Job Responsibilities:
- Monitor and Control Water Chemistry Parameters – Continuously track and maintain specified limits for boiler water, feed water, condensate, and cooling water quality (e.g., pH, conductivity, silica, sodium, dissolved oxygen, chlorides).
- Operate Chemical Dosing Systems – Precisely control the injection of conditioning chemicals (e.g., hydrazine, ammonia, phosphates, oxygen scavengers, scale/ corrosion inhibitors) via automated dosing pumps and skids.
- Supervise Effluent Treatment Plant (ETP) Operations – Monitor and control the treatment of plant wastewater and chemical discharges to ensure compliance with environmental regulations before release.
- Conduct Routine Chemical Analysis – Perform on-line and lab analysis of water/steam samples using instruments (e.g., analyzers, spectrophotometers) and manual testing kits to verify system health.
- Optimize Chemical Consumption and Costs – Adjust dosing rates and regeneration cycles based on load, raw water quality, and system conditions to achieve treatment targets with minimum chemical usage.
- Coordinate with Other CCR Operators – Communicate closely with Boiler and Turbine operators regarding steam purity, blowdown schedules, and any chemistry-related constraints on plant load or equipment.
- Manage Chemical Inventory and Handling – Monitor chemical tank levels, coordinate refilling, and ensure all handling and storage procedures comply with safety and environmental standards (MSDS).
- Maintain Records and Reports – Accurately log all chemical parameters, dosing rates, consumption data, and laboratory results. Prepare reports for performance review, regulatory compliance, and maintenance planning.
