Job Responsibilities:
- Monitor and Control Turbine-Generator Parameters – Continuously monitor speed, load, steam pressure/ temperature, vibration, bearing temperatures, and other critical parameters to ensure safe and efficient operation.
- Execute Start-up and Shut-down Procedures – Safely perform turbine start-up, synchronization, loading, and shut-down sequences in accordance with standard operating procedures.
- Respond to Alarms and Emergencies – Take immediate corrective actions during turbine trips, load rejections, or abnormal conditions to prevent damage and ensure personnel safety.
- Optimize Turbine Performance – Adjust steam admission, extraction, and cooling systems to maximize efficiency while maintaining operational limits.
- Conduct Routine Testing and Checks – Perform valve testing, over speed tests, and other periodic checks as required by operational guidelines.
- Coordinate with Boiler and Electrical Operators – Maintain close communication to balance steam demand, electrical load, and plant stability.
- Log and Report Operational Data – Accurately record operating parameters, incidents, and maintenance requests in shift logs and digital systems.
- Supervise Field Operators – Direct field personnel for local operations, isolations, and inspections related to turbine and auxiliary systems.
- Manage Turbine Auxiliaries – Oversee operation of lubricating oil systems, governing systems, gland steam systems, condensate pumps, and other turbine-associated auxiliaries.
